SUNDAY DANCE CHURCH 

1st & 3rd Sunday of Month

Join us Sunday mornings on the first and third of each month at 10am for a 90minute journey.

Our practice doesn't have choreography or dance steps to learn so there's no way to do it wrong. Our practice is about healing and we explore that through somatic movement which means instead of thinking about how to move your body, you move and dance from a place of sensation. Somatic movement is about getting out of your mind and into your body through conscious awareness and sensation. We also weave in self-inquiry, ancient technologies and mind-body-energy practices.

Before we dance, we set Intentions. At the beginning of our dance we drop into our body and connect with the earth. We ground ourselves before we begin to move and dance. Our music begins soft and slow and it may draw you towards the ground for some floor stretching.

As the music picks up and we enter high peaks of intensity, we will cultivate our energy with powerful breath practices. We will use sound to move energy as we release and let go in our dance. We return to stillness for integration and meditation.

Facilitator: Jenny Bailey is a Heal-throug-Dance certified facilitator who guides ecstatic dance and healing movement experiences. She is a massage therapist as well and is a coordinator of holistic programs for recovery and treatment centers. She loves to help people find their spiritual path and return to their authentic self. She holds a loving safe space for her classes to move and become free.
